So I figured that since I'm avoiding my homework that xanga would be a great way to waste time. I have so much to write about. I'll start with band tour.

Band tour I was pretty much dreading, I'll be honest. When thinking back to last year and how much I hated symphonic band I really didn't want to go alone (since kir wasn't going this time). It actually took a lot for me to even stay in symphonic band, but I decided to go with an open mind. It turned out to be one of the best times I've ever had. I'm really glad that I stuck with it. I made amazing new friends on tour and even lightened up a little bit around the pipe band guys. My tour roommate, Martina, was a ton of fun to room with. The first night in Tipp City staying with her, Ashley, and Fay was a complete blast. I don't think we stopped laughing until 1:30am. Just some quotes from that night: "Guys, is it safe to sleep with your head below your heart? Isn't that how the Elephant man DIED?! AHHH!!" "It's kinda sad. Kinda like a Ken doll trying to masturbate!" Anyway, haha, the next night I got to stay at Martina's house in Oak Ridge, TN. The one thing that stands out is her black cat opening the semi-cracked door to the room I was staying in and scaring the crap out of me. Next was College Park, GA where I ate at the original Chick-fil-A. Nothing really eventful at that house other then it was huge and beautiful! Then it was off to Jacksonville, FL! I ended up staying at a house that was only two blocks from the beach so I convinced everyone to go for a night walk. It was awesome! There was a full moon and I ended up calling my parents just to rub it in a little that I was on the beach while it was snowing in PA. The next day was Winter Haven, FL where four of us ended up staying with a really old woman. Now this woman was so short that she couldn't see out the mirrors of her car. I was scared for my life the entire ride to her home. Her husband must have just recently died because there were a bunch of tools in the garage and beer in the fridge. So Martina and I go to our room and I'm on the phone with my dad and happen to look over at this bookshelf next to my bed. On this bookshelf is a freaky statue that has black eyes and is frowning looking ready to kill so Martina flips it around because we were both freaked out. This woman is also a painter. Above this bookshelf is a painting of one of her grandsons supposedly finger painting, but there is no paper or paint can and the color of the paint was bright red. So it looked like he was playing in blood. So we lay down to go to sleep and Martina rolls over and is facing the painting "Blythe...I can't sleep, the kid with the blood is scaring me!" So we both didn't sleep very well that night because we were both a little freaked out. The next day we are driving back to the church and like most FL drivers this woman thinks that stop signs are optional. Thankfully we all made it back to the church alive. Then off to Naples, FL. Martina and I got to room with four guys somehow which is rare on band tour. But it ended up being fun. The house we stayed at had a hot tub and of course I couldn't pass that up. After a long week on tour it was nice to just relax in the hot tub. And surprisingly it wasn't too awkward seeing as I was the only girl in it with four guys. The house was really nice too, as were the host parents. Now Dunedin, FL is where it gets interesting. This sketch guy ends up taking five girls back to his apartment. Thankfully he didn't stay because he doesn't live in this apartment. It used to be his mothers until she went to a nursing home and now his sister is moving in. On the ride there he was telling us about the bed situation and how there are twin beds in two rooms and there is an air mattress in the living room. He was telling us how mad he was that the air mattress turned out to be only a double because the people told him it was supposed to be a queen sized but when he got it home it was only a double. So he drops us off and Liz finds the box for the air mattress and starts laughing because on all sides of it it says in huge bold letters "DOUBLE" so we got a good kick out of that. On his way out he walks to this light switch while saying "This light switch here..." and he turns it the other way ".....does absolutely nothing. Well ok girls have a good one." And he walks out the door. It was really funny. Poor guy. We also found the moms wheelchair and meds. so we aren't really sure if she went to a nursing home. Really kinda sketch. The last day of the tour was spend at Disney where I met up with my family. All in all it was a lot of fun.

More updating to come. That is only one week of my two week spring break!

Wow, it's been a while since I've updated with actual events. Well, school has been going great surprisingly after all the drama that happened over break and the start of this semester. I ended up going home this Friday for the day because of a doctors appointment for my back and pinky. My scoliosis has progressed by 3 degrees, but the doctor didn't seem like that was such a big deal. So that's cool, now I just have to do old people exercises to get my back muscles in shape. As for my pinky, well it's got chronic tendenitis meaning that playing my bagpipes will be painful for the rest of my life, yay to that. Anyway, came back to campus on Saturday because Kirsten and I had dances to go to. I went to Xi Chi Psi's wine and cheese with Keith before heading to Gala. I will probably have pictures posted shortly on my picture site which can be found through facebook. Even though I am sick (stupid head cold) it was an alright time. Speaking of being sick, I've had a cold for the past 5 days. My nose hurts from too many tissues, and my voice still sounds funny. I hope it starts to get better soon, that way I can get back into full swing of things, mainly practicing my pipes seeing as tour is approaching way too quickly. The band is also doing a mini-band competition on March 4th. Problem is that it only allows for 5 pipers to play when we have 7. I do want to compete with them, but with me being sick it's kind of hard to show that. I hope I'm up to par when the time comes around. Anyway, I'm probably taking off again for the weekend with a group of friends and heading home for the weekend with them. I'm really looking forward to that. Yay for weekends! And hopefully by that time I won't be sick anymore. Well, I'm going to make some food, and spend the band time that I'm missing on my electronic chanter memorizing music since I can't play bagpipes today. Ttyl everyone!

I've actually been meaning to update for a few days now. Well, things at school have been going great so far. A lot of changes have happened and everything is different. But I don't think this different is so bad. Actually I think that what has happened so far this semester has been a great starting off point, at least for me. I feel really content with who I am right now, and that's a new feeling. I've always had something I wanted to change about myself, but so far this semester I actually feel happy with who I am. I've changed quite a bit since coming to school, and it's been rough, but it seems to me that everything that has happened has just made me become who I really am. I am doing things I normally wouldn't do, I talk more, I state my opinion more, all in all I just feel comfortable. I kind of feel like I finally fit in somewhere, which I've never felt. My friends here are great and we share so much with eachother and get through tough times together and that is what I love about them, that no matter what we are always there for eachother. I never had that with my friends from high school. I've also just starting dating someone which so far has been wonderful because he is totally patient with me and completely caring and understanding. Other then all of that, classes so far haven't been too bad. I'm not really paying as much attention to the work as I should, but it's because I've been distracted by my ever changing world and all of my friends in it. Again, as stated in my last post, hopefully some things will settle down soon. Well, I think I've covered everything that has been going on so far. I'll keep you all updated.

Ok. So there is a bit to update on. First day back at school sucked! I had gone to bed at 11 and Kirsten had finally gotten settled in around 11:30 (seeing as it takes her a bit to get comfortable with her brace and such). Well around midnight the stupid fire alarm goes off because the stupid people on the second floor thought it was cool to fill the bathroom with steam. There was something broken in the basement that allowed the water temp. to reach over 200 degrees. Now, I was semi-alright with this happening but I felt really bad for Kir who couldn't use the elevator to get downstairs. So she had to hobble down three flights of stairs. We get outside and it's FREEZING, and lowry was closed so we all stood outside in our pj's  for about 20mins. Come back in the building and attempt at going to sleep once again. Well around 2am, my computer gets really bright and it catches my eye (because it has a black screen saver). I look down at it, thinking how odd that it came out of the screen saver without anyone touching it and look at the clock on the dresser to see what time it was. Turns out that the power had gone out in only the third floor bedrooms. So, I got a new phone over break and it took me about 10 mins to figure out how to set the alarm on it so we all wouldn't miss our first day of classes. Well I finally figure that out and the power comes back on. So then I turn the heat up in the room and climb back into bed for the third time. About 5 mins later our heater turns obnoxious and starts banging and pounding and squeeking so I climb back out of bed, yet again, to turn the damn thing off. So that people is my first day back. Needless to say I was not very happy the next morning having to wake up at 8am.

As for my classes this semester. I'm already dropping one class. I knew that after the first day in it. So now I'm down a class and have to find a new one which is ridiculously hard to do. One class I am going to absolutely love is Architecture II. It's going to be awesome!

Onto symphonic band. Well, I've actually made the choice to attempt another go at it and stay in. At least for now. My first practice back wasn't as terrible as I thought it was going to be which made me really happy. I figured that since I hadn't played at all over break that I was going to be struggling and pretty far behind everyone. Turns out that I'm not as far behind as I thought. Just have to get moving on memorizing. YIKES! Our first performance is this sunday. I'm not worried about it though because it's only marching music which I already know. And what's even more awesome is that I'll be back in time for kick off for the Steelers game! lol! So really everything is kind of falling into place for that category in my life.

So, things have been a bit crazy since I've been back. A lot of things have happened to my friends, and a few things with me. It's been pretty crazy and for a while there I just thought I couldn't take it. Luckily things have kind of settled down, even though everything kind of seems different now. I know I'm being cryptic. Anyway, it's been one heck of a week and this is one heck of a post, I'm going end this here.
